End Bad Governance In Nigeria
The #EndSARS Movement which started in 2017, has grown and sown seeds in the ground that make us more aware of the incompetence and wickedness of our elected officials. Holding them accountable for SARS is only the beginning and we intend to hold them accountable all the time for everything they do wrong. And there are many instances of them doing wrong.

Dear/Sir/Madam,
My name is (name), and I am a citizen/constituent of (place). I’m writing to you today to bring your attention to the #ENDSARS protests held worldwide.
Since October 8th, the protests have been going on and funded by Nigerian and non-Nigerian citizens worldwide. However, there has been information going around that the Feminist Coalition had their bank accounts blocked by the Central Bank. There has also been news that the bank accounts of people who have received funds from the Feminist Coalition have been blocked. Reports that people who provided legal help also had their accounts blocked and more. This is unconscionable; the Central Bank is in place to protect the citizens of Nigeria's financial interests, not to suppress their valid concerns. I implore the Central Bank of Nigeria to stop suppressing citizens' voices and lift the ban instantly. We expect that this will be done speedily.
Sincerely,

THE NATIONAL BROADCASTING COMMISSION OF NIGERIA IS CENSORING MEDIA HOUSES FOR REPORTING THE NEWS.
EMAIL THEM AT [email protected]
Dear/Sir/Madam,
My name is (name), and I am concerned about the actions of your company. I’m sure you have now heard about the #EndSARS protests that have been taking place for the past few weeks and are still taking place today in Nigeria and all over the world.
While the protests happened, they were not covered by large media houses in Nigeria; they were covered by small media houses, which led to your company posting this: https://twitter.com/nbcgovng/status/1318630417566715912. Recently the news has broken that The National Broadcasting Commission of Nigeria has fined AriseTV, ChannelsTV and AIT, three million naira each for their coverage of the protests. In Nigeria, the freedom of expression is protected by section 39 (1) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria constitution. To sanction any company for what they report during a protest is a clear violation of the constitution. It is also undemocratic. The violation of the constitution is appalling, but it can also be taken to court.
NBC should drop the fines and uphold the Nigerian constitution and international obligations to respect and protect freedom of expression and media freedom. The National Broadcasting Commission has been looking for ways to avoid international disgrace; however, this will bring more disgrace. These fines must be lifted before Nigeria is embarrassed locally and internationally.
Sincerely,

The National Assembly has a duty to investigate incidents and impeach the president if he is found guilty of gross misconduct. Gross misconduct includes ordering soldiers to kill unarmed citizens.
If the legislative fields investigate, people can invoke section 69 of the 99 Constitution of Nigeria the section empowers the people to recall their senators or representatives

Dear [Insert name],
My name is [INSERT NAME HERE] and I am a citizen/constituent of [INSERT COUNTRY/CITY/AREA]. I am writing to request the impeachment of the current president of Nigeria. Muhammadu Buhari. It is not easy for a constitution to request the impeachment of their president but I truly believe that is not only important but necessary.
I’m sure you are aware of the #EndSars movement and have seen videos of protesters. At this point, you have probably gotten emails, texts and even phone calls asking about your stance. Maybe you are even in a constituency that has had a lot of protests. If you do not know anything about the #EndSars Movement, take a look at this Amnesty Article: https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2020/10/nigeria-authorities-repeatedly-failing-to-tackle-impunity-enjoyed-by-notorious-sars-police-unit/.
On the 20th of October 2020, the world watched in shock as army officials shot at people who were peacefully sitting down at the Lekki toll gate. As this news swept the country, more reports came in that there were Army officers shooting in different parts of the country. We know they are army officers because they had military grade weaponry which is only accessible to army people.
On the 22nd of October 2020, after radio silence from the office of the president, we watched a “live video” of the president of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari. In this video, President Buhari threatened protesters, lied about the events we watched happen live, and lauded the works of his administration. He did not mention the deaths that happened at the Lekki tollgate or during the prior protests. This is an act of gross misconduct by the president of Nigeria.
So as citizens, we are calling on you to charge the president of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari with gross misconduct.
1. Failure to reign in the army
2. Threatening the civil liberties of the citizens of Nigerians
Please act quickly on this. If you fail to remove Buhari from the seat of power, we will invoke section 69 of the 1999 Constitution and recall you for loss of confidence.
Sincerely,

Here is a script you can use to ask the Judiciary Committee to stop the bill
Dear Sir,
My name is (name), and I am a citizen/constituent of (place). I’m writing to you today to bring your attention to the pending bill titled "Protection from Internet Falsehoods, Manipulations and Other Related Matters Bill 2019." This bill is currently awaiting a committee report before it is passed. Given the actions of the Nigerian government regarding the EndSARS protests and the subsequent sanctioning of media houses, it is reasonable to believe that this bill intends to restrict the freedom of expression of Nigerians. It is clear that social media sites have become a fifth estate through which, elected officials can hear directly from their citizens. This was recently exemplified by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo receiving Twitter printouts as part of his press briefing. As your constituent, I strongly urge you resist this bill as it intends to restrict the freedom of speech of Nigerians and it is a threat to Nigeria's nascent democracy.
Sincerely,
